About me
Who am I?
My name is Anna. I took this picture in Kew Gardens more than 20 years ago, while still studying biology at university. Sitting there in Kew I was probably wondering where I would be twentysomething years later. It’s been a long journey on a winding road and hopefully there will be a lot more to come.
I mostly create glass jewelry and home decor that are somehow connected to science because I believe that science has as much beauty in itself as arts.
Here are a few pieces of info about me but if you want to know more, don’t hesitate to contact me.
Family
I am a mother of three kids. The eldest is not exactly a kid any more, the two youngest are a pair of cheeky fraternal twins.
Studies
I have an MSc in biology and another in biomedical engineering – hence my interest in sciences. I learned everything I know about glass and working with it through a lot of research and experimenting.
Work
Before my youngest kids were born I worked as a scientific associate for a biomedical company. I also started working with webdesign.
Photography
I’ve been into photography since high school. Back then I used to photograph on film, I even developed my negatives and made my own prints (e.g. the picture above) but nowadays I mostly use a digital camera.
Garden
It’s been a lifelong dream to live in a home with a large garden. Now it’s become a reality and whenever I can I spend time working on our garden.
Canada
Another lifelong love: I was lucky to spend a year in Vancouver, BC while in high school. I even have a Canadian high school diploma 🙂
